Rundown Of Brookland Area New Years Eve Events

It’s hard to plan social activities these days, what with the surging Omicron variant, to not knowing how safe you will feel once you arrive somewhere, to not knowing if you can get tested or when the results may come back. But in case you are ready to step out on New Years Eve and stay local, here is a round up of nearby New Years events from area bars/restaurants who have made announcements. We will update this list as we learn of new events or specials.
- Brookland’s Finest will be open for regular dinner service from 4 pm - midnight. They will be requiring proof of vaccination starting December 29th (meaning a vaccine card (or photo) as well as a physical photo ID that matches). Brookland’s Finest is located at 3126 12th Street NE.
- City-State Brewing Company is hosting their Neighborhood NYE event with no cover and no dress code. They will also have a New Years’ Day brunch with micheladas and beermosas. Proof of vaccination is required. City State is located at 705 Edgewood St., NE
- Dew Drop Inn is going all out with a dance party - DJ, champagne toast at midnight, free glowsticks, hats and noisemakers. Party begins at 7 pm, DJ begins at 8 pm. The Dew Drop Inn is located at 2801 8th Street NE.
- Era Wine Bar in nearby Mount Rainier is having an evening of live jazz and a four course menu, in two seatings. Tickets are going fast so make sure to reserve your seats (which are required) here. Kids are welcome, their staff is fully vaccinated and seating will honor social distancing guidelines. Era is located at 3300 Rhode Island Avenue Mount Rainier, MD.
- metrobar is pulling out the stops with three events: a family event on NYE day, a NYE evening event for adults and a New Years brunch. While metrobar is largely an outside venue, they have firepits, patio heaters, a heated tent, deck heat lamps and a selection of hot cocktails to keep you warm. metrobar is located at 640 Rhode Island Ave NE.
The Family New Year’s Party will be from 4 - 7:30 pm and will feature kids activities and games. There will also be a countdown to the New Year with a 7pm toast (bubbly for the adults, sparkling cider for the kids) on the big screen as it turns midnight in London. Reserve your free tickets here.
metrobar’s Midnight Train to New Years Party will start from 8:00 PM and will have a DJ and dancing, ending with a toast. Your ticket gets you a glass of bubbly for the midnight toast. RSVP here.

- Pennyroyal Station in nearby Mount Rainier, is having a special New Years Eve menu with a special selections of sparkling wine, champagne, and red wine by the bottle. Starting 12/28 all indoor guests will be required to show proof of full COVID-19 vaccination (official vaccination card, a picture of your official vaccination card, or app like CLEAR and MyIrMobile). Guests without proof of vaccination can sit on the patio. Everyone must wear a mask when they are not actively eating or drinking indoors as well as entering or exiting the restrooms and indoor common spaces at the restaurant. - The Public Option is once again hosing their popular New Years Eve Party including their annual ballon stomp & confetti cannons at midnight along with other surprises. Vaccines are required. The Public option is located at 1601 Rhode Island Ave NE.
