Free Yoga On The Met Branch Trail Returns For The Summer

Here is a great series of events for anyone interested in getting out and getting active. From an email from instructor Crystal Moore:

For the 4th straight year, I am partnering with the DC Road Runners Club to offer a FREE weekly, outdoor community yoga class on the Metropolitan Branch Trail.

This All Levels class will accommodate every yogi, from beginner to advanced. We begin at 6:30 PM on Tuesdays after Memorial Day.

Dates: Tuesdays, May 30 through July 25
Time: 6:30-7:30pm
Location: Metropolitan Branch Trail
at foot of Rhode Island Ave Pedestrian Bridge

Free Yoga And Fitness Classes On The Metro Branch Trail MBT

Sally and Sheri from the MBT5K Team shared some exciting news with the community. They will offer free yoga and fitness classes in the months of June and July. What a fantastic opportunity to engage in outdoor activities. This will also add additional traffic, which, as we all know, will help make the trail safer.

Dear Astrid,

We’re pleased to announce that the MBT5K Race is sponsoring free activities along the Metropolitan Branch Trail in northeast Washington, DC this summer.  On Tuesdays and Thursdays in June and July at 6:30 PM we are offering yoga and fitness classes to all who would like to stop by.

6:30 – 7:30 PM, TUESDAYS IN JUNE & JULY (2014):  Yoga with Crystal Moore at S & 4th Streets NE (at the mini park along the trail where the MBT5K race is held).  Bring mat or towel.

6:30 – 7:30 PM, THURSDAYS IN JUNE & JULY (2014):  Fitness boot camp with Project Fitness at 8th & Edgewood Streets NE (at the trail entrance, near Chocolate City Beer).  All fitness levels welcome.
