Here is a great event for those needing to get out of the house on Sunday, December 24! From the event page:
Our 2nd annual Christmas Eve Martini tasting, hosted by the store’s owner Hiram, is coming! We are spending December pouring 8 bottles of Washington DC’s own distilled spirits. Spirits from Eight, Republic Restoratives, New Columbia Distillers, and Cotton & Reed, Jos. A. Magnus, District and neighboring Blue Dyer are available to taste. Try our version of a local Manhattan and Hiram’s take on the Martini through local Spirits on Christmas Eve.
The event is from 1 PM – 5 PM. Wardman Wines is located at 625 Monroe Street NE.
Two of our favorite area businesses are teaming up for a free tasting this Friday. From Wardman Wine’s event page:
You don’t have to give up coffee just because it’s hot outside! Brandon stops in from our favorite coffee roaster, Zeke’s. Zeke’s roasts in small batches, focuses on single origin arabica beans, and creates custom blends. He’s bringing their cold brew, made with beans roasted in a One-Eight Distilling whiskey and talks about how to do iced coffee. Eric will show us a DIY coffee liqueur you can make and makes a few iced coffee cocktails to keep cool this summer!
Sounds great! Wardman Wines is located at 625 Monroe Street NE.
This Sunday May 7 there will be a fun event bringing wine and a great cause together. From an email from Wardman Wine:
We are hosting a fundraiser for Dance Place. Wardman Wines will host a tasting of 12 rose wines, after hours May 7th, from 6:30-9pm. Part of the proceeds goes directly to benefit the programming at Dance Place.
Check out the Facebook event page here and get your tickets ($20 each) here – not bad considering you get to try 12 rosé wines. Dance Place is one of our favorite neighborhood amenities, not only do they present a wide variety of programming but they offer tons of programs for kids often at low or no cost. Wardman Wines is located at 625 Monroe Street NE.
We thought wine loving Brooklanders would be interested in this event tonight. From the event page:
Wardman Wines, in partnership with the Rhône Rangers, is excited and honored to host Patrick Comiskey for a guided tasting of American Rhône wines. Patrick is the author of the new book, American Rhône: How Maverick Winemakers Changed the Way Americans Drink. The book has been hailed as “a compelling, impeccably researched tale of the band of misfits and renegades who saw an alternate path for California and elsewhere…Essential reading for Rhône lovers!”
As our loyal customers are aware, we at Wardman Wines are incapable of self-control when it comes to getting Rhône wines for the store. So the goal of this tasting is not simply to hear a fascinating story, try some iconic wines, and perhaps gain some converts to our cause. No, the real goal is to prove that we are not crazy and there are whole books and organizations just as gaga over Rhône wines as we are.
Come out and join us!
The event is Thursday, February 23rd, at 7PM.
Tickets are $20, and can be purchased on Eventbrite or at the door.
Check out the wines here and get your tickets here. Special pricing on the wines will be available as well as copies of Patrick’s book for signing. Wardwan Wines is located at is located at 625 Monroe Street NE, Suite A7 between Barnes and Noble and Chipotle. Check out their website here and their Facebook page here.

Back in August we wrote about Wardman Wines, a new store that will sell wine, liquor and beer. We were happy to learn that they will be opening their doors this Friday. Check out some pics we took of the store last week.
From an email:
We’re excited to be coming to the neighborhood…Obviously, we’ll be selling wine, but we’ll also be carrying a good selection of beer and spirits, as well as some wine-friendly snacks. We will have a tasting bar and regularly-scheduled tasting events and classes. We really want people to be comfortable with the experience of buying wine, and we want them to be happy with what they purchase.
We were also excited to hear that they will begin delivery service once they are up and running. Sounds like a win for the neighborhood! Wardman Wines is located at 625 Monroe Street NE, Suite A7 between Barnes and Noble and Chipotle. Check out their Facebook page here.
