Back in October we wrote about the opening of The Public Option, a new brewpub on Rhode Island Ave. Today they are kicking off a new series of events, and this one is for a good cause. From the Public Option website:
In the first of what we intend to be a series of guest chef appearances, Kyle Todd (Director of Rhode Island Main Streets, Austin Texas native, and chili chef extraordinaire) has agreed to prepare a batch of his renowned chili here at the Public Option. (He’s making corn bread too!) Kyle will be on hand from 5:00 – 9:00 on Saturday. A portion of all sales made during the event will benefit Rhode Island Avenue Main Streets.
We’ve waited a long time for both – now the wait is over!Kids @ Play brings a great indoor community play area to the neighborhood. With activities like an indoor bounce room, climbing wall, tea party room, and educational activities, there’s a whole new reason to make RIA Main Street the destination for your entire family.

Kyle Todd, Executive Director of Rhode Island Avenue NE Main Street, shared an open invitation to join his team and Councilmember Kenyan McDuffie for the official opening of the the RIA NE Main Street office space. We learned that Councilmember David Grosso also announced his attendance.
Kyle wants to particularly encourage local business owners and residents close to the Rhode Island Avenue NE corridor to seek information how they can benefit from and how they can be involved in the RIA NE Main Street project. For example, business owners can get information how hey can apply for a store front improvement grant.
Please join us to celebrate the opening of the new office for Rhode Island Ave NE Main Street!
