The annual Easter community event on CUA’s campus is always a fun event for neighborhood kiddies. This year the event, Spring to CUA, will take place on Sunday, March 20 from 12:00 – 2:00 pm. The event is free and includes an egg hunt, moonbounce, face painting, duck pond game and an obstacle course. From the event page:
CUA invites the Brookland & CUA community families to join us for a fun spring afternoon! Kids can enjoy a wide variety of treats, crafts, and activities including an Easter egg hunt. The event is run by CUA student volunteers, who make the day a safe and enjoyable time for our welcomed community guests.
Register/RSVP for the event here. The event will take place on the University Lawn (behind The Columbus School of Law). In case of rain, it will be indoors in the Pryzbyla Center – Great Room.

Looking for some local, family fun? Check out this Spring Festival at Turkey Thicket Saturday, April 4, from 12:00 -4:00 pm. There will be a DJ, basketball and kickball tournaments, sack races, an Easter egg hunt and food. The event is free. (In case of rain the event will be indoors.) Turkey Thicket Recreation Center is located at 1100 Michigan Ave NE.
Our neighbors at the The Franciscan Monastery are hosting their annual Easter Lily and Palm Cross sale on Palm Sunday weekend. The quality of the lilies at this annual event have become well-known, so this is a popular event. Hundreds of lilies and 20″ handmade braided crosses made of fresh palm fronds are available in the monastery’s Portiuncula Chapel today, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Sunday, 8 a.m.-3 p.m. All just $9 with proceeds supporting the care and preservation of the historic monastery gardens.
