DC Books to Prisons is a volunteer organization that sends 15,000 books a year to prisoners in over 600 US prisons. This coming Saturday, June 24 they will have a fund raising bake sale from 10 AM – 1 PM at the Farmer’s Market at Monroe Street Market’s Arts Walk. From the event page:
Stop by for a wide variety of treats, including homemade cookies, brownies, and sweet and savory quick breads. Dogs are welcome at the market and there will be homemade dog biscuits available for purchase as well.
All proceeds go to DC Books to Prisons so they can continue their work to provide free books to individual prisoners in over 600 institutions across the United States.

The market will occur every Saturday through early winter and is located at 716 Monroe Street NE.
