EYA developers will unveil their latest updates to the proposed 12th & Allison NE townhouse development a community open house tonight. Readers may remember that this is the proposed development on the grounds surrounding the St. Joseph’s Seminary that we wrote about here and here.
According to a recent community announcement, the number of proposed homes was reduced from 150 to 82, 3 acres of publicly accessible open space will remain, historic preservation will be sought of the St. Joseph’s Seminary building, and community amenities will include a Capital Bikeshare station, park areas with climbable art and sculpture for kids, and public art.
The meeting will be tonight, Tuesday July 12 from 7:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Seminary (1200 Varnum Street NE). Check out the flyer below for more info. If you can’t make it tonight, EYA will be giving presentations at upcoming Michigan Park Citizens Association, North Michigan Park Civic Association, Queens Chapel Civic Association, Brookland Neighborhood Civic Association, and ANC 5A meetings. Ever been curious about regulatory processes around developments such as Planned Unit Development (PUD) and Zoning changes? The Neighbors of St. Joseph’s Seminary is hosting a presentation for community members – “PUD and Zoning 101”. The presentation will occur Saturday, February 6, 2016, starting at 3 PM, in the Ground Floor Lecture Hall of Providence Hospital. The goal of the presentation is to educate residents about the PUD and zoning process in DC. Check out the flyer below and their website for more information. Tour of Chancellor’s Row

Description: Chancellor’s Row is a 237-unit EYA project completed in 2014 in the Brookland/Edgewood neighborhood about one mile south of the seminary. Please join us for a tour of the community to get a closer look at a nearby EYA project. We will return to the St. Joseph Seminary after the tour where we will answer questions from 11:30– 1:30 and discuss 12th and Allison with any neighbors and community members who would like to stop by or were unable to attend the tour.
