Little Ricky’s Closes Its Doors For A Summer Break

Little Ricky’s, one of Brookland’s beloved restaurants, announced yesterday via Facebook that they will be taking the summer off. Although this news is surprising, it comes on heels of the restaurant’s “re-launch” on May first, which included a new menu concept focused on southern American cuisine. We reached out to Chase Moore, proprietor of Little Ricky’s, for a statement. He assured us that all is well, but that ownership feels it is time for a much needed break, and that they expected a slow summer. In deed, the signs in the restaurant window says “We’ll see ya’ll in September!”. We hope that is the case.

  1. This is my FAVORITE restaurant in all of DC! I’m glad you’re taking a break but I’ll be counting the days until you re-open in September!!! This Southern barbeque and sides take me back to my roots like no other place in town. The people are so nice! Break and then come back soon!!!!

  2. Am not feeling good about this. Are they paying the kitchen staff? I know of servers who were given ZERO notice of the close. Neighborhood joints need to treat staff better. Or maybe they are just done?
