Ft. Totten Square Development Coming Late 2014, Includes Walmart With Full Grocery Store

Ft Totten Development MapMany thanks to the Emerson Park Twitter Feed for passing along this super-informative brochure about Fort Totten Square, a new mixed use development that is slated to be complete by late 2014. Normally, we only cover news in the immediate Brookland area, but we thought that readers would be interested in this development as it is a mere 1.5 miles or so from Brookland. From the website of developer JBGR:

Fort Totten Square is a mixed-use development to be constructed near the Fort Totten Metro station in Washington, D.C. Fort Totten Square will bring an exciting shopping, dining, and living experience to the neighborhood for which it is named. The project includes convenient ground floor retail, including an urban-format Walmart with full-service grocery and pharmacy; 350 rental apartments homes, including studios and one and two-bedroom units; and immediate access to the city and suburbs via the Red, Yellow, and Green Lines that converge at the nearby Fort Totten Metro station.

    1. Chris, CUA’s DuFour Athletic Center (which includes the outdoor track) is only accessible to members of the CUA community (a valid CUA ID is required). From their policy: “Only current University faculty, students, and staff members may use University fitness facilities or participate in activities that utilize such facilities unless specific permission is provided by University Athletic, Intramural, or Fitness Center Staff.”
