The Scrilli School is a nearby preschool for boys and girls, ages 2 – 5, run by the Carmelite Sisters, a worldwide Congregation of Catholic religious women. Every year the school hosts a Casino Night fundraiser at the Franciscan Monastery’s St. Francis Hall. This year the event will be on Friday, February 7th from 7-10pm. From an announcement on the Brookland listserv:
General admission tickets are $25 and entitle the holder to 1 free drink ticket, food (provided by San Antonio’s, Maggiano’s and The Cheesecake Factory) and non-alcoholic drinks, $500 in Scrilli Bucks to gamble with, an opportunity to bid on silent auction items, and a good time with your neighbors.Your winnings from Craps, Poker, Roulette and Blackjack will get you entered into the raffle. We’ll also have a silent auction – a few of the items are Redskins/Cowboys tickets, a Caps hockey stick signed by Nicklas Backstrom, ballet gift certificate (donated by Kirov), Coach bags, and landscaping consultation.Beer and wine will be available for purchase along with additional Scrilli Bucks.
