Brooklander To Open ‘The District Fishwife’, A Sustainable Seafood Spot At Union Market

Brookland resident Fiona Lewis will be opening a fish market later this month at nearby Union Market called the District Fishwife. The shop will offer “fresh and sustainably caught and raised seafood and prepared seafood for take-away, notably our own take on the classic Fish and Chips.” Sounds great! If you are interested in helping a fellow Brooklander get this business going, we suggest you consider contributing to her Indiegogo campaign to raise funds to get “to the finish line. Most of the equipment–cold room, display case, kitchen appliances, hood, etc.–is already purchased, and the build-out is almost complete, but we still need to have our equipment installed and put the finishing touches on the shop.” In return you get merchandise like magnets, caps, and t-shirts, or experiences like lunch for two, or a one-on-one fish cutting class. Interested?
