Franciscan Friar Alessandro Brustenghi, also known as the “singing Friar of Assisi” will be singing a concert of sacred arias at Brookland’s Franciscan Monastery of the Holy Land. Brustenghi is a tenor and the only friar in the world to have a recording contract with a major studio. Still, because of his pledge of poverty, the Friar does not receive any monetary compensation for the sale of his albums. Instead, proceeds from sales and donations at this shows go to the Order of Friars Minor to assist Franciscan charity activities worldwide. The concert is free and will take place Thursday, November 14th, at 7:00 pm. The monastery is located at 1400 Quincy Street, NE.
