Brookland Halloween 2013, a set on Flickr.

Today was a great day to take photos around the neighborhood so we took advantage and captured some of the spooooky decorations on Franklin, Irving, Kearny, Newton, Perry, Quincy, 10th and 12th Streets, NE.

  1. Hello kmf,

I can only speak from our own experience on 12th Street. We are getting A LOT of trick-o- treaters. To our surprise though even the little ones don’t come around to our block until about 6pm. As time goes by the monsters get older and and older and less “creative”. We estimate we had about 100 kids at our door. The candy seeking traffic slows down sometime around 8:30-9pm.

But I also heard that there are streets and blocks that are much less visited. It might be a matter of how decorated the houses are and how obviously they advertise that they are “open for Halloween business”.

The weather of course is another factor. If the rain will hold off tonight until later, you will see many little monsters, witches, pirates and princesses roaming Brookland’s streets.

    HAPPY HALLOWEEN ! ! ! !
