Art in the Alley is an exciting art event taking place this Saturday evening from 6:00 – 10:00 pm in nearby Trinidad. This time around they have expanded the event to include live performances – 2 bands will be playing and there will be a dance group performing as well. There will also be tacos served up by H Street restaurant Impala, and the Curbside Cupcakes food truck will be there too. Of course, the reason for it all is the artists, of which there will be about a dozen, showing off their artwork. The following is from the Art In The Alley Website:
Art in the Alley was inspired by the confluence of the emergent arts scene in the Trinidad neighborhood of Washington DC, a desire to build community through positive interaction with our neighbors and an empowering Do-It-Yourself spirit.
Launched in 2011, Art in the Alley celebrates local art in local spaces twice a year: once in the spring and again in the fall. The alley is located between the 1200 blocks of Florida Avenue and Morse St NE, in residential Trinidad, just blocks away from some spectacular art galleries and the H St – Atlas arts district. We enjoy where we live and invite you to enjoy it with us.
Hope to see you there! For more information follow Art in the Alley on Facebook.
