Check out this super-cool event from Brookland-based Casey Trees! From their volunteer page:

Get outside and weed, water and mulch Casey Trees-planted trees alongside some of your favorite Washington Mystics players this summer. A national landmark tucked away in the historic Brookland neighborhood, the Franciscan Monastery is more than a 100 years old and boasts beautiful gardens and grottos – and thanks to the hardwork of volunteers like you, an ever growing tree canopy.

Volunteer slots for this special event are extremely limited. So put on your red, navy, silver and white and join us for an evening of teamwork and fun to keep our city’s trees healthy and strong. Go Mystics!
