Matt Malone and Kurtis Ceppetelli make up the artistic duo Duly Noted. They will present a show at the Brookland Artspace Lofts opening on June 1st called “Conversations” made up of works that they created collaboratively over the past two years. This is a pretty exciting show since this will be the first time these artist’s joint art pieces will be displayed. I also find it pretty cool that Malone and Ceppetelli utilized returned house paint and drop cloth canvas to create these pieces. From their website:
“We work paintings until they can no longer be advanced. We start with an object, figure, poetic reference, or a vision. From there the painting gets its roots and is born. Like a child we give it life, nurture it to the point where it starts to think and make decisions on its own. When it reaches the point where we can not help make it stronger then what it is, only then is it complete.”
There will be two receptions and open studios, one on June 1st and one on June 22nd 2013, both from 7:00 pm – 11:30 pm. The show run from June 1st-22nd at the Selman Gallery at the Brookland Artspace Lofts, which is located at 3305 8th St NE.
