New ANC Boundaries – Do You Know Yours?

Redistricting happens every ten years following the U.S. Census, which means Election Ward and ANC/SMD boundaries are changed according to population shifts. These new Election Ward boundaries will be effect for the general election on November 6, 2012. As a result, your Voting Precinct may have changed. If so, the DC Board of Election and Ethics should have mailed you a notification and a new voter card. Still, if you are not sure of your current Precinct or Ward assignment, you can check it here.

ANC 5B Boundries 2013Most Brookland residents will find themselves in the new ANC 5B border, depicted above (click the map for a larger view).  Brooklanders on the west side of the Metro tracks are mostly in ANC 5E. The various ANC races are starting to take shape, as the deadline to get on the ballot, August 8th, is swiftly approaching. The potential candidates in ANC 5B Single Member District (SMD) races so far are listed below:
