The “playground” across from Brookland’s Noyes Elementary School has been slated for an overhaul for a long time now. As far as I know, the Request For Proposals has been released, responded to, and work should be well under by now. But it’s not. Those, like me, that are curious about the status of the playground should attend a project update meeting tomorrow, Wednesday, October 24th from 6:00 – 7:00 pm. The meeting will take place at Noyes Elementary School, 2701 10th Street NE.
Here what the Playground looks like today and a partial rendering of what the Playground will look like in the future:

Where can we find more information on the proposed playground design?
And…can they please put in a dog run?! Pipe dreams, I know, but I thought I’d ask. C’mon neighbors, let’s make this happen.
Hi Tanya, thanks for reading and commenting. I will post a pic of a hard copy design in another post soon. There are no softcopies of renderings you can see online anywhere because the contract to build the park hasn’t been finalized yet, so any drawings are still notional. There will be no dog park/run mostly because of the city regulations about the proximity to the school and lot size requirements – sorry!
I am so excited about having a new playground in the neighborhood!!! We desperately need it!
