Early Voting Begins Today At Turkey Thicket – Avoid The Lines On Election Day!

Election Day is coming up on November 6, 2012. The DC Board of Elections allows early voting, so why not save yourself some time and hassle and get it done now? There is one early voting site for each of DC’s 8 Wards. The Ward 5 early voting location is Turkey Thicket, located at 1100 Michigan Avenue, NE.  Early voting is going on from Saturday, October 27  through Saturday, November 3, and there will be no voting on Sunday October 28th. Voting hours are 8:30a.m. – 7:00 p.m

There will be a general election for the following positions:

  • Electors of President and Vice President of the United States
  • Delegate to the U.S. House of Representatives
  • At-Large Member of the Council of the District of Columbia (two to be elected)
  • Ward 2, 4, 7 and 8 Members of the Council of the District of Columbia
  • At-Large Member of the State Board of Education
  • Ward 2, 4, 7 and 8 Members of the State Board of Education
  • United States Senator (Shadow Senator)
  • United States Representative (Shadow Representative)
  • Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner (296 to be elected)

There will be a special election for Chairman of the Council of the District of Columbia.
