Yesterdays celebration of Brookland’s 125th birthday was a glorious day in more ways than one. The perfect fall weather set the backdrop for a day filled with community spirit and home-town pride. The festivities included a parade, community picnic, tree tour and walking tour. Many thanks to the following folks for making the day a great one for all:
- John Feeley, local historian, who spearheaded the event
- The Brookland Neighborhood Civic Association (BNCA) , The Greater Brookland Garden Club, The Greater Brookland Business Association and the The Michigan Park Citizens Association for providing lunch to the masses
- Turkey Thicket Rec Center for providing the picnic grounds
- Casey Trees for giving a Tree Tour of the Brook’s Mansion Grounds
- Walkingtown DC for the walking tour of Brookland’s historical landmarks
