Registration Now Open For The Met Branch Trail 5K

The Metropolitan Branch Trail (MBT) 5K Run/Walk is one of our favorite area events, because it brings the community together and raises greater awareness to this fantastic resource.  From an email:

Registration is now open for the 7th annual Metropolitan Branch Trail 5k! Join DC Road Runners, and your neigbors from NOMA, Brookland, Eckington, Edgewood, Brentwood, and the other neigborhoods surrounding the Met Branch Trail for this great race up and down the trail.

WHERE:  The start/finish is at the trail entrance at the Rhode Island Avenue Shopping Center (near the Metro Station and 4th Street, NE).  Race course is along the off-road portion of the MBT.

WHEN:  April 29, race start is 9:00 a.m.  Race day registration and Packet Pickup starts at 7:30 a.m.

COURSE: Flat and fast USATF certified 5K up and down the Met Branch Trail.

Save $10 by registering now for the 5th Annual Metropolitan Branch Trail 5K Walk/Run, to be held this Saturday, April 29th at 9:00 a.m. (on race day registration increases to $35).  Race proceeds benefit the community with activities along the trail, like free yoga and fitness classes.  We could also use a few more volunteers on race day.

The MBT is an 8-mile trail that runs  alongside the Metro’s Red Line.
