We recently learned that Brookland will be getting a food incubator called Tastemakers from the owners of popular food truck Captain Cookie and the Milkman. Tastemakers will occupy an 8,000 square foot building at the corner of 10th and Franklin. It will have a kitchen that can host 25 and 40 members as well as retail space. According to this story in the Washington Business Journal:
Tastemakers will have a large commercial kitchen with cold and dry storage, as well as space for as many as eight vendor kiosks where members can sell their wares. There will also be a shared office space with a conference room and a demonstration kitchen.
The article also mentions the potential for food truck members given the building’s three garage bays and onsite parking. Coincidentally, Tastemakers joins Mess Hall – another food incubator, which is just over the Franklin Street bridge in Edgewood. Right Proper Brewing and the Dew Drop Inn are also nearby – maybe we could see some interesting joint efforts. Tastemakers is slated to open in late summer or early fall and will be located at 2800 10th Street NE.
