Nearby culinary incubator, Mess Hall, is a food community where DC-based food entrepreneurs come together to cook, share and collaborate. We thought neighbors with culinary interests would want to checkout these upcoming events. Note -the Ramen World event in February sold out pretty fast last year so you may want to keep an eye out for when tickets become available and jump on them ASAP. From the Mess Hall Facebook page:
Next Wednesday, January 25th, join us for an interactive butchering class from 6:30-9:30pm where Greg Herring will break down a heritage pig, sourced directly from Spring House Farm; pitmaster Joe Neuman of Sloppy Mama’s BBQ will satiate your BBQ needs; and DC Brau Brewing Company will quench your thirst. Tix here.
From February 9 – 11th, Chef Michael Turner and his wife Alexandra Bookless Turner will bring Restaurant June, a pop-up experience named after their daughter Juniper, to Mess Hall. Think beautiful modern American cuisine (Chef Michael spent time at minibar by José Andrés and Daikaya – Ramen – Izakaya, among other stand out spots across the country) and inspired cocktails (Alex has bartended for over 17 years and managed The Passenger for 5 years).
