We have been tracking the development of the new Academic Center at Trinity Washington University since 2013. Now we are happy to report that there will be a Dedication Ceremony and Ribbon Cutting for the center at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 4, 2016. The 80,000-square foot, LEED certified building features state-of-the-art science and health labs and classrooms and was delivered on time and under budget. Check out this time-lapse video of the center being constructed.
I am a big fan of Trinity because they focus on making higher education accessible to populations that are traditionally under served. The majority of their students are first-generation college students, 90 percent are African-American or Hispanic and in-coming freshman have a median family income of $25,000. More than half of their students are from DC, and Trinity educates more D.C. residents than any other private college or university in the nation. Congrats on the new building – well done!
Trinity Washington University was founded in 1897 and is located at 125 Michigan Avenue NE.
