Last March we wrote about an affordable senior housing building called The Girard Street Senior Residences, planned for an empty lot at the corner of 16th and Girard. We recently learned from this posting at Elevation Media DC that construction will start soon and that the 4 story, 25 unit building will be completed about a year from now. According to the story:

The building will have mostly one-bedroom units, a demonstration kitchen for cooking classes, an exercise/yoga studio, walking trails in a garden and a few parking spots. District agencies will determine rents, eligibility and tenant selection.

We will let you know when we learn anything new.
