Nearby culinary incubator, Mess Hall, is a food community where DC-based food entrepreneurs come together to cook, share and collaborate. This Sunday, March 8,  from 1:00 PM to 4:30 PM, they will team up with New Belgium Brewing  for a pretty cool event called Pickled, Braised, and Brewed: The Art of Slow Food. From the event page:

Join New Belgium for an afternoon of slow food, slow ceramics, and craft beer.  We’re rolling out Slow Ride IPA (a session beer) and we’re sure to bring some other suds to the party.  We’re partnering with local chefs to give you a hands-on afternoon learning the art behind pickling, braised meats, ceramics, and our beer.

Come ready to taste delicious bites from the chefs of Gordy’s Pickle Jar and Mason Dixie Biscuit Co, while ogling the ceramics of Derek Thomas Hambly.

Ticket sales support our non-profit partner, CulturalDC, which serves to provide space and resources for emerging artists in the Washington, DC area.  Ready, Set, Go Slow-Mo…

Ticket Cost: $45 – Includes 2 beers (Slow Ride), one biscuit sandwich and slow meat tasting, and two chef demonstrations, including one hands-on session with a jar of pickles to take home.  (Ticket sales will be raising money for CulturalDC.)  Additional beers will be available for purchase.

with additional beer specials for ticket holders
