We thought readers would be happy to hear that the pedestrian bridge connecting the Metropolitan Branch Trail and the Rhode Island Metro stop is now open. We have been following the development of the pedestrian bridge since August and are delighted it is complete. The pedestrian and bike bridge crosses the train tracks near the Rhode Island Avenue Metro Station and makes it easier and safer to cross, and creates an easier connection between Rhode Island Avenue and the Metropolitan Branch Trail. 1. I’m happy the bridge is open, and I’ve been using it since returning to work after the holidays. Is there any word or contact information for getting the bridge plowed, shoveled or salted? Today’s commute was particularly hazardous.
